Experience unique leaf-based markets, participate in the sacred lamp offering ceremony, and enjoy the cool breeze right in the middle of the summer heatwave – these are experiences only found at Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh – the highest mountain in Southern Vietnam.
Feeling winter in the midst of summer
At an altitude of 986m above sea level, the Ba Den mountain peak seems to have a completely different "climate zone" compared to the city. During summer, visitors can clearly experience 4 seasons in one day when ascending the mountain: crisp in the morning, cool in the midday - afternoon, and cold in the evening. Especially, on hot sunny days in the Southern region, the temperature on the mountain peak is always about 8-10 degrees C lower than in the city. With daytime temperatures ranging from about 24-32 degrees C, this is considered an ideal place to escape the heat every summer.

If you encounter clouds or mist descending around the mountain peak, you will clearly feel "winter" right in the middle of summer. That's why many people compare Ba Den Mountain to the "mini Da Lat" of the Southeastern region, and choose to go up Ba Den Mountain after 5 PM to cool off during hot spells. To enhance the experience for visitors choosing to go to the top of Ba Den Mountain in the evening, Sun World Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area has a promotional program offering a voucher worth 100,000 VND for visitors who buy cable car tickets to the mountain peak after 5 PM from Monday to Friday. The program applies from June 16 to August 29, 2025. Visitors can use the voucher to purchase services at food and souvenir outlets managed by Sun World Ba Den Mountain (not applicable for online purchases). The program does not apply to special ticket types (annual tickets, free tickets, student tickets, monk/nun tickets, senior tickets...). Going to the market with Bodhi leaves The leaf market is a unique specialty of Tay Ninh, held on the full moon day of the first lunar month every year. However, now visitors can attend the leaf market right on the top of Ba Den Mountain on many major holidays.

Ba Den Mountain leaf market is also special in that, not only are there stalls decorated with a strong traditional flavor reminiscent of peaceful old country markets, but the market also features lively entertainment activities and vibrant folk art performances. All of this makes the leaf market not just a culinary experience, but also a space for visitors to reconnect with childhood memories, connect with each other, and feel the beauty in the gentle cultural life of the people of Nam Bo.
Participate in the sacred lantern offering ceremony
After the Leaf Market, the most anticipated activity for visitors on Saturday evenings is participating in the lantern offering ceremony at the square on top of Ba Den Mountain. Here, each visitor receives a free lantern, writes their wishes on the lantern, and joins the crowd to perform the meditation, offering, and releasing rituals by the water at the foot of the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue.

Each lit candle is a sincere prayer, a wish for peace and good fortune. Thousands of candle lanterns illuminating the night at the foot of the Lady Buddha statue create a memorable spiritual and cultural experience on the sacred peak. For many years, the candle offering ceremony on Ba Den Mountain on Saturday evenings has not only been a religious ritual but also a symbolic ceremony of the highest mountain in the South, where visitors seek peace in a place where heaven and earth meet.

Along with the ancient pagoda system associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau Bodhisattva, the magnificent spiritual cultural works on the mountaintop make this place a pilgrimage destination for Vietnam and the world, welcoming millions of visitors for worship each year.
