Sun World Ba Na Hills – The land of giants

Once upon a time, the Earth was home to giants—a world of magic and wonder. Then, a meteor collision forced these giants into hiding within the mountains. They fell into a deep slumber, becoming one with nature itself. Today, one of the most remarkable remnants of that ancient world is a pair of colossal stone hands emerging from the summit of Ba Na Mountain.

Upon these hands, modern humanity has built the Golden Bridge—both as a tribute to that forgotten realm and as a pathway for visitors to stroll above the clouds, gazing out over majestic mountain ranges. This marks the opening chapter of a grand narrative about the kingdoms of the Sun and the Moon atop Ba Na. And as many now recognize, it all begins with the Golden Bridge—an icon that has become synonymous with Da Nang’s tourism identity.

This is the central theme of Sun World Ba Na Hills—a destination where Sun Group continues to bring to life the legend of the giants, weaving stories of ancient, mystical kingdoms hidden atop Mount Chua.

Cầu Vàng Ba Na Hills

Part of the Sun World entertainment brand system and located just over 20 kilometers from Da Nang city center, Sun World Ba Na Hills is one of Vietnam’s premier integrated resort and entertainment complexes.

Perched at an altitude of 1,487 meters above sea level, Ba Na Hills is often described as a “fairyland above the clouds,” blessed with a remarkable climate and extraordinary natural scenery. Its cable car system—recognized multiple times by Guinness World Records—offers visitors a soaring journey above seas of clouds and lush primary forests.

At Sun World Ba Na Hills, visitors can experience the unique phenomenon of “four seasons in a single day,” alongside a rich array of festivals, entertainment, and culinary offerings. Highlights include the Golden Bridge, the French Village, indoor amusement zones, and the highest-altitude brewery in Vietnam. Guests can also admire the distinctive architecture of Sun Falls and Eclipse Square, wander through vibrant flower gardens filled with tulips and hydrangeas, or enjoy captivating artistic performances that run from day into night.

làng pháp Ba Na Hills

Sun World Ba Na Hills is widely regarded as a remarkable achievement for Da Nang’s tourism sector in particular and Vietnam’s tourism industry as a whole. Few may recall that prior to 2009, Ba Na welcomed only around 30,000 to 40,000 visitors annually—and there were not even restaurants on the mountain. At the time, locals often joked: “You don’t know Ba Na until you go—but once you do, you’d rather stay home.” It was only after Sun Group launched the first cable car line on March 25, 2009, that the once-forgotten Mount Chua was truly awakened.

Since then, Ba Na Hills has continuously reinvented itself—year after year, even month after month—offering new experiences that keep visitors coming back. The slogan “Ba Na Hills – the road to paradise” has retained its meaning for more than 15 years. Today, Ba Na is not only a favorite destination for domestic travelers but has also evolved into an international-standard attraction, securing its own distinct position on the global tourism map.

Domestically, Sun World Ba Na Hills has been named Vietnam’s Leading Tourist Area by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism for four consecutive years, and has played a key role in driving Da Nang’s impressive tourism growth. Between 2009 and 2018, visitor arrivals to Da Nang surged by 463%, while the number of visitors to Ba Na increased more than 160-fold. In 2019, with the debut of the Golden Bridge, Da Nang welcomed 8.6 million visitors—over 60% of whom visited Ba Na Hills.

More than a turning point for Da Nang’s tourism, Sun World Ba Na Hills has brought to life Sun Group’s mission: enhancing the beauty of Vietnam – bringing Vietnam to the world and bringing the world to Vietnam. From a once-untouched mountain, Ba Na Hills has been transformed into a true marvel—an emerging icon of Vietnam’s tourism on the global stage, much like how Genting Highlands has come to define Malaysia, or how Universal Studios and Disneyland have become symbolic landmarks of cities around the world.
