1. Seven Years of Recognition and the Challenge of Sustaining Ba Na Hills’ Appeal

At the World Travel Awards 2026 Asia & Oceania and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, held in the Maldives on September 27, 2026, Sun World Ba Na Hills was named the winner of two prestigious categories: Asia’s Leading Theme Park 2026 and Asia’s Leading Cable Car 2026.

This marks the seventh consecutive year, from 2020 to 2026, that the destination has retained the title of Asia’s Leading Theme Park. Notably, this double win, including the newly introduced Asia’s Leading Cable Car 2026 category, further affirms the Bà Nà cable car system as a distinctive experience in its own right.

Being named the winner of a prestigious category for seven consecutive years is a remarkable achievement, but it also brings an “invisible pressure” for Ba Na Hills: how can the destination continue to offer visitors fresh and compelling experiences, especially those who have already visited before? With the Golden Bridge, French Village, the journey through the clouds by cable car and Fantasy Park already firmly associated with Bà Nà, the challenge is no longer simply to create another new icon, but to ensure that every return visit brings something different to look forward to.

Rather than replacing the elements that have made Bà Nà famous, the destination continues to expand the experiences around them: more spaces to explore, more ways to have fun, more opportunities to enjoy art and cuisine, and experiences that extend well into the evening. This approach of “renewing without losing its identity” enables the destination to preserve its familiar hallmarks while continually introducing new experiences and fresh emotional touchpoints with every return visit.

1.1. The Icons That Have Shaped Ba Na Hills’ Identity

Before exploring its newer attractions, it is worth looking back at the defining elements that have shaped the identity of Ba Na Hills. From the Golden Bridge and French Village to the cable car system and Fantasy Park, each represents a different dimension of the visitor experience — landscape, architecture, journey and entertainment — together creating an unmistakable identity that sets Ba Na Hills apart.

Golden Bridge – An International Tourism Icon

Unveiled in 2018, the Golden Bridge stretches nearly 150 metres and sits at an elevation of approximately 1,414 metres above sea level. It captured global attention with its striking image of a gleaming golden walkway resembling a ribbon of silk, seemingly held aloft by two giant hands amid the mountains and clouds.

What began as an eye-catching check-in spot quickly became one of the most recognisable symbols of Ba Na Hills and Da Nang tourism. The Golden Bridge was also honoured by the World Travel Awards in the World’s Leading Iconic Tourist Bridge category.

Cable Car System – Where the Journey Is Part of the Experience

With seven cable car lines currently in operation, the journey to Bà Nà is far more than simply travelling from the foot of the mountain to the summit. Through the cabin windows, lush green forests gradually recede below, clouds may drift at eye level, while the architectural landmarks atop Núi Chúa slowly emerge through layers of mist.

In 2026, the Sun World Ba Na Hills cable car system was honoured by the World Travel Awards as Asia’s Leading Cable Car 2026.

French Village – An Architectural Landmark Shaping the Identity of Bà Nà

Squares, castles, churches, domes and cobblestone streets inspired by European architecture come together to create an old-world setting at an elevation of nearly 1,500 metres. More than just a picturesque backdrop for photos, French Village is one of the defining architectural elements that strongly shapes the visual identity and distinctive atmosphere of the Ba Na Hills experience.

Fantasy Park – Vietnam’s Largest Indoor Amusement Park

Spanning approximately 21,000 m², Fantasy Park brings a lively dimension of entertainment to the journey atop Bà Nà. While the Golden Bridge and French Village make a strong impression through their landscapes and architecture, Fantasy Park broadens the experience with games and interactive activities, making the destination appealing to a wide range of visitors, from families to groups of friends.

2. An Ever-Expanding Experience Ecosystem: Endless Reasons to Return

Once a destination has established icons strong enough to be remembered, the appeal of returning must come from new experiences. Over the years, Ba Na Hills has continuously expanded its spaces, enriched and refreshed its artistic programmes, introduced interactive technologies, broadened its culinary offerings, and extended the experience well into the evening. As a result, the same destination can unfold into a different and equally captivating journey with every visit.

2.1. The Experience Map Continues to Expand

Building on the familiar journey through the Golden Bridge, French Village and Fantasy Park, Ba Na Hills continues to add new wonders such as Moon Castle, Eclipse Square and Sun God Waterfall, alongside vibrant landscaped spaces, engaging experiences and a diverse culinary world spanning Asian and European flavours. With each visit, guests can discover new layers of scenery, architecture and artistic expression across the destination.

For returning visitors, the value of this expansion lies not simply in “how many new attractions have been added”, but in the greater range of choices it creates. Visitors can spend more time exploring architecture and art, combine sightseeing with entertainment, enjoy diverse culinary experiences, or seek out areas they may not have had the opportunity to discover on previous visits.

2.2. When Bà Nà Becomes a “Living Stage”

Architecture may remain unchanged, but the “content” unfolding within these spaces can always be renewed. Ba Na Hills makes the most of this advantage by weaving live performances, festivals and interactive activities directly into the visitor journey, allowing familiar squares, streets and landmarks to continually take on new stories.

In 2026, minishows such as Malambo, Cancan and Love in the Sky continue to bring vibrant energy to different areas across the destination. In particular, Sun Festival 2026, running from April 10 to August 31, transforms the summit of Núi Chúa into a lively festival setting filled with music, performances, interactive activities and culinary experiences.

As performers, programmes and the festive atmosphere evolve, the same square or street can evoke an entirely different feeling — a way of refreshing the destination without necessarily having to begin with another large-scale landmark.

2.3. From Check-In Spots to Interactive Art

One of the standout new experiences introduced in 2026 is “Nguon Coi” Interactive Light Art, an interactive light art space spanning approximately 800 m² in the former Wax Museum area within the Moon Castle complex. Powered by photoelectric sensor technology, the lighting responds to every step and touch, transforming visitors from passive observers into an integral part of the artwork.

The arrival of “Nguon Coi” shows how the experience at Ba Na Hills is expanding beyond landscapes, architecture and entertainment into the realms of art and interactive technology. For those who have visited Bà Nà before, this is more than just another check-in spot; it offers an entirely new way to engage with the space and the story of the destination.

2.4. Culinary Experiences Become Part of the Journey

The evolution of Ba Na Hills extends beyond new attractions and performances. On May 30, 2026, Eric Kayser Bakery officially opened in French Village, adding an authentic French culinary experience to its distinctly European setting.

Together with Beer Plaza, Bana Brew House, a diverse selection of Asian and European restaurants, and festival-inspired culinary activities, dining is increasingly woven into the journey itself rather than simply serving as a break between sightseeing experiences.

Dining is an integral part of the Ba Na Hills experience.

When cuisine is woven together with the setting, music and festive atmosphere, the experience becomes even more emotionally engaging. Visitors may return not simply to take another photo at the Golden Bridge, but to discover a new flavour, watch a new show, or simply spend more time enjoying Bà Nà in their own way.

2.5. A More Enchanting and Entirely Different Ba Na Hills After Dark

There is another way to refresh the visitor experience without changing any physical landmark: by changing the time of day in which the destination is experienced. During the day, Bà Nà reveals itself through mountain clouds, flower gardens and architectural details illuminated by natural light. From late afternoon onwards, however, as the French Village and surrounding squares light up, the entire destination takes on a different character — warmer, more atmospheric and filled with a stronger sense of festivity.

Ba Na By Night 2026 is designed to extend the journey from afternoon into the evening, combining cable car rides, entertainment, dining and live performances. For visitors accustomed to the traditional “arrive in the morning, leave in the afternoon” itinerary, staying on to see Bà Nà illuminated after dark, enjoying dinner at the summit or continuing the evening with a show can offer an entirely different perspective on the same destination.

Here, simply changing the time of day creates a whole new experience in itself.

3. From a Day Trip to a More Leisurely Journey of Discovery

As the experience becomes increasingly multi-layered, the way visitors spend their time at Ba Na Hills is also changing. The destination is no longer seen simply as an itinerary to be “completed in a single day”, but can instead be explored at different paces: part of the day devoted to landscapes and iconic landmarks, time set aside for entertainment and art, or a late afternoon and evening spent enjoying cuisine and experiencing Bà Nà after dark.

The “One Ticket, 03 Days Unlimited Experience” policy, introduced by Sun World Ba Na Hills from May 18, 2026 until further notice, clearly reflects this shift. After upgrading a one-day ticket to a three-day ticket at the ticket counter and completing FaceID registration before the first use, visitors can enjoy unlimited cable car rides over three consecutive days. Dining services, games and other accompanying benefits are available according to the terms and conditions of each ticket type.

Beyond the question of ticket pricing, this product reflects an important shift: Ba Na Hills’ experience ecosystem has become rich and diverse enough for visitors to slow down and personalise their own itineraries. From September 1, 2026, all benefits included with the ticket are also integrated directly into a single QR code, replacing the paper coupons previously used and making the journey more seamless and convenient. Bà Nà is therefore moving beyond the question of “How much can I fit into one day?” towards a far more engaging one: “How do I want to experience Bà Nà?”

4. Sustaining Its Leading Position by Creating New Reasons to Return

Being named Asia’s Leading Theme Park 2026 for the seventh consecutive year, alongside the new title of Asia’s Leading Cable Car 2026, marks two major milestones for Sun World Ba Na Hills this year. Yet, viewed as part of a much longer journey, the value of these accolades lies not only in the awards themselves, but also in the destination’s ability to sustain its appeal despite already enjoying strong recognition among both domestic and international visitors.

The Golden Bridge remains an icon amid the mountains and clouds. The French Village retains its distinctive old-world charm. And the cable car journey through forests and clouds continues to provide an evocative opening to the Bà Nà experience. Yet around these defining attractions, Ba Na Hills continues to expand its spaces and introduce new performances, interactive art, culinary experiences, and activities that extend from day into night. As a result, the next visit does not have to be a repeat of the last.

For a destination that has maintained a leading position for many years, the challenge is no longer simply to become better known, but to continue giving those who already know it compelling reasons to return. At Ba Na Hills, that answer is being shaped by its ability to continually create new reasons to come back — each time with a different way to discover the destination.
