Ba Na Hills at Mid-Autumn Festival: Folk traditions, glowing lanterns, and exclusive 50% discount for young visitors

Designed to celebrate traditional folklore and bring a warm, celebratory spirit to holiday travelers, Sun World Ba Na Hills is hosting a dedicated Mid-Autumn Festival week packed with cultural showcases and entertainment.

During the peak period from September 23 to 25, which corresponds to the 13th to 15th days of the eighth lunar month, the Main Citadel Gate at Sun World Ba Na Hills will come alive with festival drums and lion-and-dragon dance troupes welcoming arrivals. Beyond light entertainment, this living slice of folklore evokes childhood memories for Vietnamese guests while introducing local cultural heritage to international travelers.

Across the complex, Cable Car Station No. 8 has been dressed for the festivities with traditional lanterns, star lanterns, and colorful banners, creating an eye-catching photo backdrop. The resort is also distributing 1,500 complimentary lanterns to young children over the three main festival days at the arrival station to spread holiday cheer.

Food and drink remain central to the Mid-Autumn experience, and Ba Na is offering its own distinct culinary interpretations. Throughout September 19–25, Four Seasons Restaurant will feature a dedicated mooncake counter alongside a traditional holiday feast spread. Meanwhile, Le Petrin and Rosa Coffee offer light tea-and-pastry pairings for guests taking in the mountain views. Adding an international touch, French bakery Maison Eric Kayser is presenting high-tea sets reimagined with Mid-Autumn flavors, blending Eastern and Western tastes atop Mount Chua.

While daytime at Ba Na revolves around lively festivities, nightfall turns the Moon Garden at the Lunar Castle into an atmospheric wonderland. A giant illuminated moon set against the castle’s stone architecture serves as one of the season’s most popular photo backdrops. Framed by drifting clouds and fairy-tale towers, the full-moon setting offers an immersive, storybook-like experience.

Travelers visiting Ba Na this season can also explore the resort's broader leisure infrastructure. The Golden Bridge continues to anchor the sightseeing itinerary, while the Origin interactive lighting exhibition guides visitors through seven themed zones where light shifts with every step.

Street performers energize festival crowds across Ba Na’s mountain plazas  

Daily street minishows featuring international acts, such as Malambo, the Cancan, and "Love in the Sky", animate public squares. Key stopping points across the summit include the French Village, Eclipse Square, and the craft brewery Ba Na Brew House. For adventure seekers, the double-track Alpine Coaster and Fantasy Park, which stands as Vietnam's largest indoor amusement center, provide all-weather entertainment.  

Running alongside the festival programming, Sun World Ba Na Hills' FIRST 18–25 incentive continues to target younger travelers. Valid through December 31, 2026, guests born between 2001 and 2008 can present a valid citizen ID card, passport, or VNeID app verification at ticket gates to purchase cable car tickets for VND 500,000. Cable car and lunch buffet packages are priced at VND 800,000, while cable car and food voucher combos cost VND 750,000, marking discounts of up to 50% off standard rates.
