Phu Quoc welcomes its best season of the year with Symphony of the Sea season 3

A bigger ‘symphony’ returns to the sea

November marks the beginning of Phu Quoc’s dry season, widely considered the best time of year to visit the island. Sudden downpours give way to gentle sunshine, calm seas and clear skies - ideal conditions for exploring the island, swimming or enjoying outdoor activities.

At Sunset Town in southern Phu Quoc, the season is also made for leisurely afternoons watching the sun sink into the sea before lights, music and fireworks take over after dark.

Symphony of the Sea returns for Season 3 with a 200-metre water stage and three times more fireworks each night.

Scheduled to return to Sunset Town in November, Symphony of the Sea enters its third season with major upgrades in both scale and production technology.

Most notably, the water stage will expand from 70 metres to 200 metres — nearly three times its previous size — creating more room for choreographed sequences combining jet skis, flyboards, lighting effects and fireworks.

The amount of fireworks used each night will also triple. With Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display involved in the production design, the new fireworks and lighting sequences will make use of the full performance space, from just above the water’s surface to the night sky, while synchronizing with the movements of performers at sea.

The jet-ski fleet will grow from six to 14, allowing for more elaborate high-speed formations, wave-cutting maneuvers and synchronized routines. Around 30 international performers will take part each evening, while the flyboard acts will introduce new “fire wings” fitted with spinning pyrotechnics and streamer-style fireworks.

The upgrades are designed to add greater visual impact to the aerial stunts while creating closer interplay between the performers and the pyrotechnic effects.

Flyboard performances featuring “fire wings” and pyrotechnic effects are among the highlights of Symphony of the Sea Season 3.

Launching at the height of Phu Quoc’s best travel season, Symphony of the Sea gives visitors another reason to linger after a day of swimming, sightseeing and sunset watching.

For those who have seen the show before, Season 3 offers fresh motivation to return, with the stage, performance lineup and visual effects all significantly reimagined.

A nearly 100-dish feast by the waterfront stage

The evening experience in southern Phu Quoc extends beyond the show with a buffet of nearly 100 dishes at Sun Bavaria GastroPub. Set right on the waterfront overlooking Kiss Bridge and the Symphony of the Sea performance area, the restaurant combines seaside dining with front-row views of the music, lights and fireworks unfolding across the bay.

Dinner at Sun Bavaria GastroPub now features a buffet of nearly 100 dishes, ranging from seafood and barbecue to Vietnamese and international cuisine.

Seafood is one of the buffet’s main attractions, with a wide variety of dishes prepared in different styles. Options include giant freshwater prawns, squid and chilled mussels, as well as beer-steamed crab, tiger prawns and squid steamed with ginger and spring onion.

Oysters and shellfish are served with tamarind sauce, Thai-style sauce or satay. At the live cooking station, diners can watch chefs prepare seafood to order and enjoy it at its freshest.

The barbecue station adds marinated beef, pork and chicken prepared in a Russian-inspired style, alongside grilled cobia and German sausages served with red cabbage and vegetables. Fresh-from-the-grill dishes paired with Sun KraftBeer craft beer make for an easy choice for an evening gathering by the sea.

Seafood takes centre stage in Sun Bavaria GastroPub’s nearly 100-dish buffet, with many selections freshly prepared at live cooking stations.

The buffet also includes artisan breads associated with French baker Éric Kayser, from naturally fermented sourdough and rye loaves to seed-topped varieties.

At the Madam Vietnam counter, guests can choose from fish noodle soup with mustard greens, fried spring rolls and roast pork banh mi, giving groups with different tastes plenty of options within the same meal.

As Phu Quoc enters its most beautiful season of the year, the refreshed Symphony of the Sea and an expanded waterfront dining experience are adding even more variety to an evening in the island’s south. After watching the sunset, visitors can settle into a prime table at Sun Bavaria GastroPub and wait for the third season of the “symphony on the sea” to light up the water.
