1.2 Origin of the woodworking craft
According to historical documents, the woodworking craft in Dat Tai, Ha Thai (Hoang Ha commune), and Ha Vu (Hoang Dat commune) villages has a history of about 400 - 500 years. The first person to teach the craft to the local people was a master craftsman from Nam Dinh, who came to Thanh Hoa to build houses and then settled down and got married in Dat Tai village. From then on, the woodworking craft was taught to the local people, spreading to Ha Vu and Ha Thai, forming the most famous cluster of woodworking craft villages in Hoang Hoa.
