Sun World Fansipan Legend tops Agoda bookings as Fansipan cable car marks 10 years
Notably, Sun World Fansipan Legend is the only Vietnamese representative to rank alongside some of Asia’s most renowned attractions and theme parks, including Tokyo Disney Resort (Japan), Hong Kong Disneyland (China), Lotte World (South Korea), Aquaria KLCC (Malaysia), Jakarta Aquarium Safari (Indonesia), and Skyflyers Giant Swing (Bangkok, Thailand).
The rankings are based on Agoda booking data collected between January 1 and June 15, 2026, covering travellers from eight Asian markets: Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan (China), and Hong Kong (China). The data reflects a growing travel trend in which visitors increasingly prioritize immersive experiences, particularly those centered on nature and local culture.

Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam, said: “In Vietnam, Sun World Fansipan Legend’s position as the most-booked attraction on Agoda during this period clearly reflects the growing appeal of highland tourism, as well as the unique natural beauty and cultural heritage of Sa Pa. Rather than focusing solely on accommodation, travellers are increasingly seeking memorable experiences that enrich their journeys.”

Sun World Fansipan Legend’s leading position on Agoda is further proof of the destination’s growing appeal after a decade of development. Once a mountain accessible only to experienced trekkers, Fansipan has evolved into an iconic destination in Vietnam’s Northwest, where visitors of all ages can easily reach the 3,143-metre summit via the cable car system that holds two Guinness World Records.

Beyond the cable car journey to conquer the "Roof of Indochina," Sun World Fansipan Legend offers visitors an immersive experience of the region's spectacular landscapes and rich indigenous culture. Visitors can pay homage at the spiritual complex atop Fansipan, attend the national flag-raising ceremony, and explore the cultural May Village to discover the traditional homes, customs, and handicrafts of the ethnic communities of Northwest Vietnam. They can also admire vibrant flower gardens in every season and savour a diverse range of local cuisine. Together, these experiences have become part of what makes Fansipan a unique destination for both domestic and international travellers.

Recently, Sun World Fansipan Legend welcomed its 10 millionth visitor, marking another significant milestone as the Fansipan cable car celebrates its 10th anniversary of operation (2016–2026). To commemorate the occasion, the destination has launched a series of celebratory events running through the end of the year as a tribute to the millions of visitors who have been part of its journey over the past decade. Visitors can explore the "A Decade in Bloom" exhibition, discover the story of Fansipan with local guides at May Village, immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the Brocade Festival, admire the Succulent Festival amid the sea of clouds in Northwest Vietnam, and enjoy a variety of cultural performances, interactive activities and photo opportunities taking place across the destination through the end of 2026.
