More Than 370 Russian Tourists Arrive in Phu Quoc on a Direct Flight from Krasnoyarsk

Phu Quoc is one of the destinations most loved and searched for by Russian travellers.
On September 27, a direct flight from Krasnoyarsk, Russia landed at Phu Quoc International Airport after a journey of approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes, bringing more than 370 Russian tourists to the island. This was the first group of Russian visitors to arrive for the 2026–2027 winter travel season, welcomed with a programme featuring elements of Vietnamese culture, including a lion dance, flowers and souvenirs.
The arrival came as Phu Quoc entered its peak international travel season towards the end of the year, with Russia continuing to stand out as one of the island’s notable source markets.
Direct Connectivity with the Russian Market Continues to Expand

From November 13, 2026, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to operate the international Phu Quoc–Moscow route (PQC–SVO) using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft.
Given the long distance between Russia and Phu Quoc, direct flights can significantly reduce overall travel time by eliminating the need for transit stops or connecting flights. A more seamless journey, with greater convenience in procedures and baggage handling, also makes Phu Quoc a more suitable choice for longer holidays among Russian travellers.
Direct connectivity with the Russian market is also set to expand further. According to current plans, from November 13, 2026, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to operate the international Phu Quoc–Moscow route (PQC–SVO) using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, marking the launch of the airline’s direct connectivity between Phu Quoc and Russia.
Earlier, on September 30, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam approved Sun PhuQuoc Airways to operate the Airbus A330 and expanded its approved area of operations to include Europe. The addition of wide-body aircraft will enhance Phu Quoc’s connectivity with long-haul markets, including Russia and other potential international markets.
International Arrivals to Phu Quoc Rise by More Than 60% in the First Nine Months of 2026
The expansion of air connectivity comes at a time when international arrivals to Phu Quoc are rising strongly, creating further opportunities for the destination to reach long-haul markets while also driving demand for accommodation, services and tourism experiences across the island.
According to the An Giang Province Electronic Information Portal, Phu Quoc was estimated to have welcomed more than 8.57 million visitors in the first nine months of 2026, up 30.5% year on year. Of these, international arrivals exceeded 1.92 million, an increase of 60.2%, while total tourism revenue reached VND 45.976 trillion, up 47.7%.

The continued expansion of direct air routes, together with an increasingly diverse range of accommodation, entertainment and tourism experiences, is making Phu Quoc more accessible to international travellers, particularly those seeking longer resort stays.
From beaches and resorts to experiences in southern Phu Quoc such as Sunset Town, Hon Thom and the island’s marine entertainment offerings, Phu Quoc is becoming increasingly well equipped to meet the diverse expectations of international visitors.
The continued expansion of direct connectivity with Russia is expected to create further opportunities for Phu Quoc to attract international travellers during the year-end peak season, while strengthening access to one of the island’s most promising long-haul source markets.
